Ban is the Lionet Bronze Saint of the 20th century.
An orphaned child, he was sent to Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to become a Saint.
Having earned the Lionet Cloth, Ban returned to Japan to participate in the Galaxian Wars tournament to receive the Sagittarius Cloth. However, he was defeated by Unicorn Jabu in his first match. Following Phoenix Ikki's theft of the Gold Cloth, Ban returned to his master in Tanzania for further training in order to become stronger.
When Saori Kidō had been shot by a golden arrow, he, along with the other Bronze Saints, came to her rescue and protected her from the then antagonistic forces of the Sanctuary while Pegasus Seiya and his friends passed through the 12 Houses. After that he came to reside in the Sanctuary and protect it against the Saints Hades had revived.
While Seiya struggled against Thanatos, Ban and the others protected Seiya's sister Seika from the attacks of the god of death.
Physical appearance
Along with Bear Geki, Ban is the tallest among the Bronze Saints, with fair skin, spiky, dark brown hair and brown eyes. Whenever he doesn't wear his Cloth, he wears a sleeveless, partially unbuttoned white shirt, brown pants, black boots, and a pair of black bracers.
Whenever he wears his Cloth, he replaces his civilian clothing with a sleeveless white outfit.
Personality
During his fight with Jabu, Ban displays arrogance. However, he shows a more humble side after his re-training and great devotion to Athena, fighting off Sanctuary Soldiers without hesitation. He also shows great courage, taking the wrath of Thanatos in order to protect Seika.
